FAQ

The question everyone asks

How successful has the centre been?

REC has produced students of high calibre — grades mostly range between A and A*, with the lowest grade ever produced being a B. Our alumni have gone on to UC Berkeley, Imperial College London, the University of Manchester and more. But don't take our word for it — come read the stories and decide for yourself how successful we've been →

01

How are new students accepted?

Every potential new student takes a customised assessment test. Places are assigned based on this performance — students are placed according to their abilities, regardless of age group or current grade at school.

02

What can my child get help with?

The entire syllabus required for each year group is completed within the academic year. REC designs its own customised tests for each year group, all based on the standard syllabus. School homework is not covered.

03

How many students are in one class?

Class sizes vary depending on the year group and the demand for each class.

04

Can lesson timings be changed?

All timings are fixed on a set schedule, and no changes are made for individual students. REC reserves the right to change schedule timings under compelled circumstances, such as Ramadan.

05

Are there make-up classes for missed lessons?

No — but missed work is kept for the absent student and handed over at their next lesson. REC also observes government-required closures such as National Sport Day and Qatar National Day, with no make-up lessons for those days.

06

Is there regular testing?

Yes — frequency depends on how much of the syllabus has been covered; typically after every one or two units. Students are not pre-informed of test dates, so regular revision is their responsibility.

07

How are parents kept updated on progress?

Through the student's performance on school tests and their progress at REC. Any concerns are raised with parents personally by Mrs Rifqa; appointments can be made through our staff when there is a significant concern.
